Texas Toffee
Texas Toffee is an easy dinner. Made with 1/4 lb. saltines, 1 c. brown sugar, packed, 1 c. butter (not margarine), 1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips and chopped nuts (optional), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Line pan with foil.
Place crackers flat on bottom of pan.
Boil butter and sugar 3 minutes.
Spread over crackers.
Bake in 400Β° oven for 5 minutes.
Sprinkle chocolate chips over this while hot.
Return to oven to melt.
Remove and spread evenly.
Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
Break into pieces when cool.
