Texas Patience is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. white sugar, 1 c. karo, 1 stick butter, 1 1/2 c. chopped nuts (i use pecans) and 1 c. brown sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Mix sugar, Karo and milk in heavy boiler.
Cook over medium heat until it reaches the soft ball stage.
Remove from heat; add butter and vanilla.
Cool 10 minutes.
Beat with mixer until it loses its gloss.
Add nuts.
Drop by teaspoonfuls on wax paper.
