Texas Hash
Texas Hash is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 lb. ground beef, 3 large onions (about 3 1/2-inches diameter, sliced), 1 large green pepper, chopped, 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes and 1/2 c. regular rice, uncooked, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Heat oven to 350Β°.
In large skillet, cook and stir ground beef until light brown; drain off fat.
Add onions and green pepper; cook and stir until onion is tender.
Stir in tomatoes, rice, chili powder, salt and pepper; heat thoroughly.
Pour into ungreased 2-quart casserole.
Cover; bake 1 hour.
Yields 4 to 6 servings.
