Texas Brownies
Texas Brownies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. flour, 2 c. sugar, 1 stick margarine, 1/2 c. shortening and 1 c. strong brewed coffee or water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

In large mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar.
In saucepan, combine 1 stick of margarine, shortening, coffee or water and cocoa.
Stir and heat to boiling.
Pour boiling mixture over flour and sugar in bowl.
Add buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla; mix well.
Pour into a well-greased 17 1/2 x 11-inch jelly roll pan.
Bake at 400Β° for 20 minutes, or until test done in center. While brownies bake, prepare frosting.
