Texas Brownies
Texas Brownies is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. all-purpose flour, 2 c. granulated sugar, 1/2 c. (1 stick) margarine, 1/2 c. shortening and 1 c. strong brewed coffee or water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and sugar.
In a heavy saucepan, combine margarine, shortening, coffee or water and cocoa. Stir and heat to boiling.
Pour boiling mixture over the flour and sugar in the bowl.
Add the buttermilk, eggs, baking soda and vanilla.
Mix well on high speed on electric mixer.
Pour into a well-greased 17 1/2 x 11-inch jelly roll pan. Bake in a preheated 400Β° oven for 20 minutes.
