Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon.
Add next 3 ingredients and beat 2 minutes, starting slowly and scraping sides of bowl.
Increase speed as needed.
Add eggs and beat 2 minutes more.
Batter will fit 2 (9-inch) layer pans or tube pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 35 to 40 minutes or until tester is clean.
