Tea Cakes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. flour, 2 tsp. cream of tartar, 1 tsp. soda, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Sift dry ingredients together.
Cream shortening with sugar. Add eggs and vanilla.
Mix well; combine with dry ingredients. Roll out on floured surface.
Roll to 1/8.
Cut with cookie cutter.
Sprinkle with sugar (colored if desired).
Bake approximately 8 minutes at 425Β°.
Do not overbake.
