Tea Cakes
Tea Cakes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter, softened, 1 c. plus 2 tbsp. sugar, 2 eggs, 2 1/4 c. flour and 1/2 tsp. baking powder, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Cream butter sugar.
Beat well at medium speed of an electric mixer.
Add eggs, beating well.
In a medium bowl, combine flour, baking powder, soda and nutmeg; add alternately with buttermilk to the creamed mixture, mixing well.
Stir in vanilla.
Tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at
10 minutes or until lightly browned.
Cool slightly and to wire racks to cool completely.
Makes 3 dozen.
