Tea Cakes
Tea Cakes is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. flour, 2 c. sugar, 4 tsp. baking powder, pinch of salt and 2 eggs, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

Sift dry ingredients together.
Cream shortening and sugar.
Beat eggs just enough to break yolk.
Add to shortening and sugar.
Add flour and milk alternately, then vanilla.
Kneed slightly on floured board.
Roll and cut with cookie cutter.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees and reduce to 350 degrees when the cookies are put in oven.
Bake on a greased cookie sheet about 15 minutes.
Makes about 9 dozen, depending on thickness.
