Tea Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. flour, 4 tsp. baking powder, 1 c. crisco, pinch of salt and 2 c. sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.

Sift all dry ingredients together.

Cream sugar and shortening together until fluffy.

Beat eggs and add to sugar and shortening. Mix together well.

Add dry ingredients and milk alternately, beating thoroughly after each addition.

Take small amounts of cookie dough and place on floured pastry board.

Roll to 1/4-inch thickness and use cookie cutters to cut out.

Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 375Β° for 10 to 12 minutes.

Cookie should be set, but not brown to be done.

Great for Christmas time to decorate.

Makes 4 dozen.
