Tarheel Apple Pie
Tarheel Apple Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese (room temperature), 3/4 c. sugar, 3 tbsp. french vanilla pudding mix, 5 to 6 medium tart apples, peeled and sliced and 2 tbsp. lemon juice, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Cheese, pudding mix in 2 quart mixing
Mix thoroughly until smooth, set aside.
Place apples in another bowl and pour freshly squeezed lemon juice over slices.
Set aside to stand for a few minutes.
Together 2 tablespoons flour and sugar and sprinkle evenly in bottom crust.
Arrange half the apple slices in pie crust. Measure 1/3 cup sugar and sprinkle 2 tablespoons of it over apple slices. Spread over sugar, the cheese mixture.
Arrange remaining slices over the mixture and sprinkle with the remainder
1/3 cup sugar.
Spread evenly the rest of the cheese mixture.
Put on top crust. Dot with butter.
Bake 40 to 60 minutes at 350Β°.
Cool and serve.
