Tahoe Brunch
Tahoe Brunch is an impressive dinner. Made with 12 slices white bread, trimmed, 3 tbsp. butter, 1/2 c. butter, 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced and 1 large onion, chopped, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.
Butter the bread with 1/2 cup butter.
Brown mushrooms and onion until tender in 3 tablespoons butter.
Brown sausage and drain.
Grease a 9 x 13-inch casserole. Layer 6 slices of bread, 1/2 mushroom mixture, 1/2 sausage and 1/2 cheese.
Repeat layers. In a mixing bowl beat together eggs, milk, mustards, nutmeg and pepper.
Pour over casserole.
Cover and refrigerate overnight. Sprinkle parsley on top.
Bake at 350Β° for 1 hour.
(Can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance.)
