Taffy Candy
Taffy Candy is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 lb. sugar (cane), 2 lb. white karo syrup, 3/4 pt. good cream, 5 sheets gelatin (can be bought at drug stores) and 1 saucer shaved parowax, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Put everything except gelatin extract in large pan. Soak gelatin water. and stir all time until crackles when tested water.
Take off stove, squeeze all water out of gelatin and put gelatin in and stir.
Then pour in buttered platters and cool until you can handle.
Pull and put in extract coloring (if wanted).
Cut in chunks with scissors. Makes about 5 pounds.
