Taco Pie
Taco Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 or 2 pie crusts, 1 lb. ground beef, 3/4 c. onion bits, 1 pkg. taco seasoning and 1 can refried beans (8 oz.), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.
Preheat oven and baking sheet to 400°, partially baking crust for 10 minutes.
Cool; reduce oven temperature to 350°.
In a large skillet, brown ground beef and onion; drain fat.
Stir in taco seasoning mix.
In a small mixing bowl, combine refried beans and 1/2 cup taco sauce.
For deep dish crust, layer one-half of the seasoned meat mixture in bottom of pie crust and top with one-half of refried beans.
Repeat layers.
For regular crust, place one-half of the seasoned meat mixture in bottom of crust and each with one-half of refried beans.
Sprinkle cheese on top; bake 25 minutes.
Remove from oven; cool 10 minutes.
Top with lettuce, tomatoes and remaining taco seasoning.
Makes six servings; 25 minutes to prepare and 35 minutes baking time.
Cool time
10 minutes.
