Sweet Rolls
Sweet Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 pkg. dry yeast, 4 tbsp. warm water, 5 1/2 c. flour, 3 tsp. baking powder and 1 tsp. soda, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water.
Mix dry ingredients together.
Mix liquid shortening, buttermilk and yeast, then add dry ingredients.
On lightly floured surface, roll 1/2 recipe to rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick.
Sprinkle with brown sugar and chopped pecans.
Roll lengthwise as for jelly roll.
Cut in 1 inch slices.
Place on greased cookie sheet.
Let set about 20 to 30 minutes.
Bake at 375Β° for 20 to 25 minutes.
Frost with confectioners icing.
