Sweet Dough
Sweet Dough is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. warm water, 2 pkg. active dry yeast, 1 1/2 c. lukewarm milk, 1/2 c. sugar and 1 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.

Dissolve yeast in warm water, let set 5 minutes.
Stir in milk, sugar, salt, eggs and shortening.
Add flour, 1 cup at a time.
Add enough flour to handle easily.
Turn out onto floured surface.
Knead until smooth and elastic, about 5 minutes.
Roll up into a ball and place into a greased bowl and roll over, greased side up.
Cover with a damp cloth and place in a warm, draft free area.
Let rise until doubled in size, about 1 to 2 hours.
