Swedish Nuts

Swedish Nuts is an easy dinner. Made with 3 c. lg. nut meats (pecans, walnuts, almonds or a mixture), 1/2 c. margarine, 2 egg whites, 1 c. granulated sugar and dash of salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Great for entertaining guests or a cozy night in.

👨‍🍳 Instructions

If using almonds, roast first for 15 minutes at 325° and cool.

Melt the margarine in a large 9 x 13-inch baking pan.

Beat egg whites until foamy.

Add sugar and salt and then beat egg whites until stiff.

Fold in the nut meats.

Spread in pan over melted margarine.

Bake at 325° for 30 minutes, turning gently every 10 minutes.

If desired, add cinnamon or nutmeg.

Will keep for weeks if tightly sealed.

Do not refrigerate.
