Swedish Brownies

Beat eggs well; add sugar and continue beating for 5 minutes. Add flour, oil, salt and flavoring.
Beat well again.
Fold in chopped maraschino cherries (if desired).
Pour into 8-inch square pan.
Sprinkle top with walnuts and then with granulated sugar. Bake at 350Β° for 30 to 35 minutes or until lightly browned.
Cut into squares while still warm.
