Swedish Apple Pudding

Combine bread crumbs, melted butter and 3 tablespoons sugar in a large bowl.
Spread out on a baking sheet and toast in a 375Β° oven until light brown, stirring once or twice.
Beat cream with the confectioners sugar and vanilla until soft peaks form.
In a 2-quart clear glass bowl, layer as follows
1/3 crumbs, 1/2 applesauce, 1/2 almonds and 1/2 whipped cream; repeat, ending with 1/3 crumbs on top.
