Sunday Spice Cake
Sunday Spice Cake is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour, 1 tsp. salt, 2/3 c. shortening, 1/2 tsp. nutmeg and 1/2 c. molasses, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. An easy weeknight meal that comes together quickly.

Measure into mixing bowl (all measurements level) the first 10 ingredients.
Beat vigorously by hand or mixer (medium speed) for 2 minutes.
Stir in baking powder and soda.
Add eggs and milk. Mix thoroughly by hand or mixer for 2 minutes.
Pour into two deep 9-inch layer pans.
Bake in moderate oven (375Β°) for about 35 minutes.
Top with your favorite icing.
Makes 2 deep 9-inch layers.
