Summer Squash

Boil squash and onion; drain and mash.
Add butter.
Beat milk, egg, salt and pepper, then add to squash mixture.
In 9 x 9-inch pan layer squash, dressing crumbs and American cheese; repeat and top with cheese.
Sprinkle dressing crumbs on top and bake at 350Β° for 45 minutes.
