Striped Jello
Striped Jello is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 6 small boxes jell-o (assorted colors), boiling water, 2 c. milk, 2 c. sugar and 4 envelopes unflavored gelatin, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Prepare 1 box Jell-O with 1 1/2 cups boiling water.
Pour into 9 x 13-inch glass dish and refrigerate.
Scald milk and sugar. Soften gelatin in cold water; add to milk and sugar.
Let cool to lukewarm, then stir or beat in sour cream until smooth.
When first Jell-O is set, pour on 1 cup of filling; refrigerate until set.
Make second box of Jell-O so it will be at room temperature by the time the white layer is set.
Keep alternating layers, ending with Jell-O.
If the kitchen is cool, the white stuff will keep trying to set up in the pan.
Just heat a little and stir until liquified and smooth.
You can use just red and green Jell-O for Christmas.
