Stack Cake
Stack Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 c. butter or oleo, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/3 c. molasses, 1 egg, well beaten and 1/2 c. buttermilk, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A crowd-pleaser that never disappoints.
Cream together the sugar and shortening.
Add egg, molasses and buttermilk and mix well.
Sift together the flour, soda, salt, baking powder and ginger and add to the other mixture.
Mix well. Add vanilla.
It makes a dough.
Divide into 5 equal balls and roll out as for pastry to fit 9-inch cake pans.
Bake at 350Β° for 10 to 12 minutes.
Cool and stack with dried apples.
