Spoon Corn Bread
Spoon Corn Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. white corn meal, 3 c. milk, 2 tbsp. shortening, 3 eggs, well beaten and 1 1/2 tsp. salt, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Preheat oven to 450Β°.
Combine corn meal, shortening and 2 cups of milk in a pan over medium heat.
Bring mixture just to a boil, stirring constantly.
Blend beaten eggs, salt and remaining milk.
Add to corn meal mixture.
Mix well.
Stir in baking powder.
Pour into greased 1 1/2 to 2-quart casserole.
Bake 25 to 30 minutes.
Serve hot with butter.
