Sponge Candy
Sponge Candy is an easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1 c. dark corn syrup, 1 tbsp. white vinegar, 1 tbsp. baking soda and chocolate (optional), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Combine sugar, syrup and vinegar; cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar melts.
Continue cooking without stirring to "hard crack stage" (300Β°) or becomes very brittle when a drop is placed in cold water (without thermometer).
Remove from heat. Quickly stir in baking soda.
Pour into well-greased pan.
When cool and hard, break into pieces.
Excellent when coated with chocolate!
