Spiced Fruit Butter
Spiced Fruit Butter is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 lb. apples, pears or peaches, 3/4 c. apple juice, pear nectar or peach nectar, 1 to 2 tsp. ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg and 1/8 tsp. ground cloves, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Bursting with flavor in every bite.
Peel and core or pit fruit; slice.
In a Dutch oven, combine prepared fruit, fruit juice and spices.
Bring to boiling; cover and simmer 15 minutes or until fruit is very tender.
Cool slightly.
PurΓ©e, part at a time, in a blender or food processor or with a food mill.
Return to Dutch oven.
Simmer, uncovered, over low heat until desired consistency, stirring frequently. (This will take 10 minutes to 1 1/2 hours.) Remove from heat; stir in Equal.
Transfer to freezer containers or jars, leaving 1/2-inch headspace.
Store up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator or up to 3 months in the freezer.
Makes about 3 cups.
