Spice Cake

👨🍳 Instructions
Cream together the shortening and sugar.
Add molasses gradually, beating well.
Add vanilla.
Beat egg yolks and add to first mixture.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spice.
Add alternately with milk to cream mixture.
Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
Bake in two greased 8-inch layer pans in 375° oven for 35 minutes.
