Speedy Caramel Frosting
Speedy Caramel Frosting is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 stick margarine, 1 c. firmly packed brown sugar, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1/4 c. milk and 2 1/2 c. powdered sugar, sifted, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Melt margarine in large saucepan.
Blend in brown sugar.
Add salt.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly 2 minutes.
Then add milk and continue stirring until mixture comes to a boil. Remove from heat.
Add powdered sugar.
Add vanilla; mix well. Spread on cake.
If icing gets too thick, add small amount of milk or cream.
May add pecans or walnuts if you like.
