Sourdough White Bread
Sourdough White Bread is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 pkg. yeast, 2 tsp. sugar, 1 tsp. salt, 3 1/2 c. flour and 1 egg, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Rinse large bowl in hot water.
Put 1 cup warm water in bowl and sprinkle with yeast.
Stir in next 3 ingredients.
Add flour and mix thoroughly with hands.
Cover and let set for 1 hour or until double its bulk.
Turn out on heavily floured surface and knead for 10 minutes.
Place in 2 round pans, well-greased with oil.
Sprinkle with cornmeal.
Slit with razor and let rise for 40 minutes.
Brush with eggs and bake 30 to 35 minutes at 400Β°.
