Soft Sugar Cookies

Cream together the sugar and shortening.
Add eggs.
In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, salt, baking powder and soda.
Add to sugar mixture, alternating with milk.
Add vanilla. Drop by teaspoons on greased cookie sheet.
Bake until slightly golden in a 350Β° oven.
Frost with lemon icing.
