Snickerdoodles
Snickerdoodles is an impressive dinner you can prepare in about 1 hour 34 minutes. Made with c. butter or margarine, softened, c. shortening, c. sugar, eggs and . vanilla, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.
Mix together butter and shortening.
Beat in 1 1/2 cups sugar, eggs and vanilla.
Sift together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
Blend into creamed mixture.
Shape rounded teaspoons of dough into small balls.
Combine 3 tablespoons sugar and cinnamon; roll balls in sugar/cinnamon mixture.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 400Β° for 8 to 10 minutes or until golden brown.
(Be careful, they burn easily!!) Remove from baking sheet; cool on racks.
Makes approximately 6 dozen.
