Snickerdoodles
Snickerdoodles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. soft shortening (part butter), 1 1/2 c. sugar, 2 eggs, 2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour and 2 tsp. cream of tartar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Mix thoroughly the shortening, sugar and eggs.
Sift together and stir in the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt.
Roll into balls the size of small walnuts.
Roll in mixture of 2 tablespoons sugar and 2 teaspoons cinnamon.
Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet.
Bake until lightly browned but still soft.
(These cookies will puff up at first, then flatten out.)
Bake at 400Β° for 8 to 10 minutes.
Yields about 5 dozen 2-inch cookies.
