Snickerdoodles
Snickerdoodles is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. soft shortening, 1 1/2 c. sugar, 2 eggs, unbeaten, 2 3/4 c. sifted flour and 2 tsp. cream of tartar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Mix together thoroughly the first 3 ingredients.
Sift the flour, cream of tartar, soda and salt together and stir into first mixture. Chill dough. Roll into small balls.
Roll balls in a mixture of the sugar and cinnamon.
Place about 2-inches apart on ungreased pan. Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 400Β° until lightly browned, but still soft.
These puff up at first and then flatten out with crinkled tops.
Makes about 5 dozen 2-inch cookies.
