Cream shortening and sugar.
Add egg and oats; beat well. Sift flour, salt and soda.
Blend into first mixture.
Chill dough.
Roll into balls the size of small walnuts.
Dip in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon.
Bake on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375Β° for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
