Small Layer Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. sifted plain flour, 3/4 tsp. salt, 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. soda and 1 c. butter (2 sticks), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.

Cream butter.
Add sugar.
Cream together.
Add eggs one at a time.
Alternate flour and buttermilk, beginning and ending with flour.
Add vanilla.
Pour into 4 greased and wax paper-lined layer pans.
Makes four thick layers.
Bake at 350Β° for 15 minutes.
