Shrimp Bayou
Shrimp Bayou is an impressive dinner. Made with 1 can peeled tomatoes, 1/2 c. sliced celery, 1/4 c. thin strips green pepper, 1/4 c. minced onion and 3 tbsp. butter or shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Drain tomatoes, measuring liquid.
Add water to liquid to make 1 1/3 cups.
Brown celery, green pepper and onion in butter.
Add shrimp; cook until pink.
Add liquid, tomatoes, sugar, salt, pepper, bay leaf, parsley and Worcestershire sauce.
Cover; simmer for 3 to 5 minutes.
Stir in rice.
Cover; simmer 5 minutes more. Remove bay leaf and parsley.
Serve hot.
