Crimp edges of pastry shell.
Mix together molasses, boiling water and baking soda.
Pour in well-beaten egg; set aside.
Mix flour with sugar, salt and cinnamon; chop in shortening to form crumbs.
Pour molasses mixture into pastry shell.
Top with crumbs.
Bake 1 to 1 1/4 hours at 350Β°.
