Shoo-Fly Pie
Shoo-Fly Pie is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 1/2 c. flour, 1/2 c. brown sugar, 1/2 c. shortening, 3/4 c. molasses (half baking and half table) and 3/4 c. boiling water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Mix flour, brown sugar and shortening until mixture becomes crumbs.
Reserve 1/2 cup crumbs.
Mix molasses, baking soda and water until soda is entirely dissolved and mixture becomes slightly foamy.
Pour into unbaked pie shell and sprinkle reserved 1/2 cup crumbs on top.
Bake at 450° for 10 minutes, then at 350° for 20 to 30 minutes until firm.
