Severn Layer Casserole
Severn Layer Casserole is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. uncooked rice, 1 c. canned whole corn, salt and pepper, 2 (8 oz) cans hunt's tomato sauce with 1/2 can water and 1/2 c. parsley, onion and green pepper (finely chopped), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
Using a 2 1/2-quart baking dish, layer rice (uncooked) and corn; sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Then layer tomato sauce, parsley, onion, green pepper and ground beef and sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Pour second can of tomato sauce and 1/4 cup water.
Cover meat with 4 strips of bacon, cut in half.
Cover dish and bake for 1 hour.
Uncover and bake for 30 minutes or until bacon is crisp.
