Seven Layer Salad
Seven Layer Salad is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1/2 medium head lettuce, shredded, 1/2 c. coarsely chopped celery, 1/2 c. coarsely chopped red or green pepper, 3/4 c. coarsely chopped spanish onion and 1 can green peas, drained well, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. In large bowl, arrange lettuce, celery, peppers, onion and peas in layers.
Spread mayonnaise evenly over peas.
Sprinkle with sugar, then with Cheddar cheese.
Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.
Sprinkle with bacon just before serving.
