Scripture Cake

Made with 1 c. butter (judges 5:25), 2 c. sugar (jeremiah 6:20), 3 1/2 c. flour (1 kings 4:22), 2 c. raisins (1 samuel 30:12) and 2 c. figs (1 samuel 30:12), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Chop raisins, figs and almonds.
Sift together flour, salt and sugar.
Cream in butter.
Beat in water and eggs.
Add raisins, figs and almonds.
Stir in honey and spices.
Mix well.
Pour into greased and floured tube cake pan.
Bake at 350Β° for 50 to 60 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
