Scripture Cake
Scripture Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 2 c. raisins (1 samuel 30:12), 2 c. figs (nahum 3:12), 2 c. almonds (numbers 17:8), 3 1/2 c. flour (1 kings 4:22) and 1 c. butter (judges 5:25), this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Simple to make and full of bold, satisfying flavors.
👨🍳 Instructions
Sprinkle raisins, figs and almonds with small amount of flour. Cream the butter; blend in molasses. Sift baking powder, flour and salt together twice.
Beat eggs. Add milk and honey.
Stir well. Add milk mixture and flour mixture alternately to creamed butter; mix well. Stir in spices, raisins, figs and almonds.
Pour into cake pan. Bake for 1 hour at 325° to 350°.
Serves 15 to 18.
