Scotch Cake
Scotch Cake is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 4 c. flour, 3 1/2 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 c. sugar and 1 c. shortening, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A classic recipe that has been enjoyed for generations.

Put all ingredients together and mix as pie dough.
Grease large size cookie sheet.
Roll between wax paper 1/2 of the dough and arrange in cookie sheet and up sides.
Add pie filling of your choice.
Roll second half and put on top, sealing all sides. Beat whites from 1 egg and spread on top.
Add ground nuts.
Bake at 350° for 15 minutes and 45 minutes at 300° (1 hour in all).
