School House Rolls
School House Rolls is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 1 c. sugar, 1 c. oil, 1 c. hot water, 5 tbsp. yeast and 2 c. warm water, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
In a large bowl, mix first 3 ingredients and let mixture cool a little.
Then, in a small bowl, mix 5 Tbsp. yeast with 2 c. warm water.
Add yeast mixture to sugar, oil, and water mixture in large bowl.
Add 1/2 c. milk and 1 1/2 tsp. salt.
Gradually add 3-4 lb. plain flour until dough is firm.
Knead until mixed.
Cut dough in half.
Roll out on lightly floured surface and cut out with biscuit cutter.
Place rolls on lightly greased baking sheets.
Cover sheets loosely with plastic wrap.
Let rise until double.
Bake at 350 degrees until golden brown.
Makes about 50 rolls.
