Scalloped Cabbage
Scalloped Cabbage is an moderately easy dinner. Made with 3 c. cooked, shredded cabbage, 3 tbsp. butter or margarine, 3 tbsp. flour, 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/8 tsp. pepper, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
While cabbage is cooking about 7 to 8 minutes in boiling water to cover, prepare the white sauce.
Melt butter; add flour and seasonings.
Blend thoroughly.
Stir in milk gradually.
Cook until thickened.
When cabbage is tender, drain well.
In a 1-quart casserole, alternate layers of cabbage, grated cheese and warm white sauce in greased casserole.
Top with buttered bread crumbs.
