Scalded Lettuce

In bowl, dice onions in center on top of lettuce.
Set aside. Mix vinegar ingredients in saucepan.
Bring to a rapid boil. Boil 1 minute and immediately pour directly on the onions.
Then lift and toss lettuce well.
