Brown in heavy skillet 1 pound sausage.
Leave some bits to stick to bottom of skillet and brown.
This gives good flavor and color to gravy.
Remove browned sausage to plate.
Leave about 1/4 cup of drippings in skillet.
(If too lean, add margarine to make 1/4 cup.)
