Sauerbraten is an impressive dinner. Made with 2 medium onions, sliced, 1/2 lemon, sliced, 1 c. red wine vinegar, 1 1/2 c. water and 12 whole cloves, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Combine all but last three ingredients for marinade.
Add meat.
Cover and refrigerate for about 36 hours.
Turn meat two times daily.
