Sauerbraten
Sauerbraten is an impressive dinner. Made with 3/4 lb. beef chuck (boneless), 1 c. dry red wine, 1/2 c. water, 3 tbsp. lemon juice and 1 small onion, sliced, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. A comforting dish that warms the soul.

Place beef in shallow dish.
In medium saucepan, bring wine, water, lemon juice, onion, peppercorns, bay leaf and clove to a boil.
Pour over meat; cool.
Cover and refrigerate for 2 days, turning several times.
Drain; reserve marinade.
Pat meat dry.
