Sangria
Sangria is an easy dinner. Made with 2 qt. red wine (an inexpensive burgundy will do), 1 qt. seven-up, 1/4 qt. rum, bacardi 151 preferably (any rum may be used; brandy may also be substituted), fruit (apple, oranges and lemons; feel free to add your favorite fruit also) and sugar, this recipe delivers authentic, satisfying flavors. Ideal for meal prep and leftovers taste even better.
π Recipe adapted from RecipeNLG-Full
Mix wine, Seven-Up and orange juice in a large pitcher or bowl. Slice fruit into wedges (1/8's).
Add fruit to mixture.
Add sugar to taste.
If you used a bowl, transfer mixture into 1 or more pitchers.
Gently pour the rum over the mixture (do not stir). Refrigerate and allow Sangria to sit for several hours (a couple of days, if possible).
This allows the rum to distribute itself.
If you can't wait, then add ice, stir and serve.
